About Me

I received my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) in 1997. CIIS is a graduate program that provides a solid foundation in Western psychology and psychotherapy approaches but goes further than traditional programs to incorporate knowledge from the world's spiritual traditions. My training has shaped my inclination to view individuals in a holistic manner, always striving for balance between mind, heart, spirit, and body.

I received post-graduate training in marriage and family therapy from The Ackerman Institute in New York City and The Council For Relationships in Philadelphia.

My professional experiences include working in social service agencies as well as private practice. I have worked extensively with children and adolescents, both in outpatient and inpatient settings, facilitated parenting groups, ran groups for teens and young adults, and provided full psychological assessments for children at risk. I have also worked for hospice, where I provided individual therapy and facilitated support groups for bereaved children and adults.

I’ve provided therapy to adults, children, teens, couples, and families. I feel very comfortable working with all genders and ages.

Other areas of specialized interest and training are assisting women and partners through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum periods as well as healing from birth trauma.

In addition to working as a therapist, I was an adjunct professor in Arcadia University's Masters in Psychology graduate program, in which I taught courses in "Counseling Skills" and "Marriage and Family Therapy" and served as Clinical Supervisor to graduate psychology students.

I am extremely fulfilled by my work and feel much gratitude to my past and present clients and students for their trust and openness.
